Oort Cloud Editions publishes and supports creative collaborations, including poetry, criticism, conversations, and ephemera. It was founded in 2014 by Clare Jones.

 

The Oort Cloud is a cloud that encircles the Sun and is made up of billions of planetesimals. The Dutch astronomer Jan Oort proposed the cloud's existence in 1950, suggesting that the cloud replenishes itself and keeps constant the number of comets that take more than two hundred years to enter the inner Solar System.

 

Like its namesake, Oort Cloud Editions seeks to create works of art that honor the ancient and ephemeral relationships between the Earth and the sky.
